A lot of white Americans who support facsism aren’t poor people living precariously. They’re petit bourgeoisie -- the owners of car dealerships and restaurants and gun ranges. Those pickup trucks they drive cost $50k and they were wealthy enough to fly to DC, taking time off work, to storm the Capitol.

Racial grievance politics arises from them seeing the threat of their monopoly position ending. And of seeing poor white people as well. But the ringleaders are NOT the precariat.
