Good piece, but I think what DeSantis has done in Florida is even more dangerous and reactionary: He's established a fascist state by redefining language and defining away personal rights in a way we haven't seen in the US since before the civil rights movement. It's fascism, but it seems Trump’s brand of fascism remains more appealing to Republican voters.
