It's perfectly possible to hold several simultaneous positions, but most people do not:

- Hamas attacked and brutally killed and kidnapped Israelis in the worst pogrom since WWII on 10/7/23. This was a horror.

- Palestinians have lived under long-term apartheid in Gaza and the West Bank, with no prospects for living a fully dignified life. This has been and continues to be a horror.

- Netanyahu is a fascist who is using the war to keep himself in power. This is a horror.

- Israel is rightly trying to root out the odious terrorist organization Hamas, which is a horror.

- But Israel is, in the process, killing a hell of a lot of Palestinian civilians. This is a horror.
