Jeff Bezos' yacht has little to do with my 401k. You can eschew a 401k and join the ranks of the poor, for starters. You can invest as ecologically and socially soundly as possible. (ESG). You can avoid exploitative companies.

But we live in capitalism, even if we oppose it. We do have a right to sustain ourselves in retirement. We're not 15th century Christian zealots (well, I'm not) who oppose "usury" as some modern-day Muslim zealots do.

Aside from living in the wilderness, I don't see your approach as viable under the current system. I am happy to support UBI and other policies to mitigate unfettered capitalism, but I do have to live in the meantime.
