My main thoughts have been around Spain and Portugal, partly because of their generous golden visa programs. (Which most people cannot afford, but luckily I could). Spain, having suffered under Franco's fascism, seems less likely to return to fascism in my lifetime. By contrast, EU members like Hungary and Poland already have; France is in perpetual upheaval; and Italy is politically unstable.

But it's not a decision to be taken lightly. And it has its own risks.
