Owning a home means:
- Not dealing with landlords who might raise your rent indiscriminately, sell the property, or evict you
- Being able to make changes to your home rather than living in fear of losing your security deposit
- Seeing the fruits of your labor (e.g. gardening) come to fruition over time
- Peace of mind when you've paid it off altogether
I paid of my home 17 years early at the beginning of the year and, for me, it has created positive feelings and peace of mind.
