Texas won’t turn blue. Every single state-wide office is currently held by a Republican. Voter suppression and deeply reactionary white people will keep it red… with a little help from aspirational Hispanics, who mysteriously voted for Trump at increased rates in 2020. People have been talking about a blue Texas since 2002’s The Emerging Demographic Majority, but those demographics-as-destint trends never came through.
