The IMF is an abomination, but equating it to "the Americans" is just not analytically justified. The IMF is literally a UN agency, and the United States, while founder of the UN, has a deeply ambivalent stance toward it -- and toward globalism in general. I would say the IMF is a creature of the kleptocratic, Davos-adjacent oligarchs, not "the Americans."
