The United States made massive investments in oil production and is now the world's biggest oil producer. This transpired in just the past decade.

Guyana is now the fourth biggest offshore oil producer. This happened in just 5 years. The volume of production will increase vastly in the next 5 years due to multiple oil discoveries. Guyana is the fastest-growing economy in the world as a result, by a long shot.

I am a huge proponent of moving to electrification (and don't see much choice in the face of the climate crisis, which is accelerating). I find your articles thought provoking but they often leave me with paradoxes like those I've listed above. To cite another, the biggest discoveries of lithium (US) and phosphate (Norway) in the history of the world happened in just the past 2 years, and these are key to an electrified economy. Yes, we need energy to mine those materials, but new oil supply is coming online as well.
