Trump wasn’t Hitler or Mussolini (yet, anyway). But every objective measure of what constitutes fascism has already been met. A fascist mob stormed the US Capitol, for goodness' sakes. (Beer Hall Putsch, 1923, comes to mind).
But as in Niemöller’s famous poem, straight, white people are the last ones to see. I am neither straight nor white, and I also use the analytical tools of political science. The Republican Party is a fascist movement and failing to recognize this could lead to worldwide consequences.
I notice you didn’t address any of the analytical characteristics of fascism I mentioned. Presumably, this is because you know that every single one applies to the Republican Party.
