Trumpism is the logical conclusion of Republicanism. The Merrick Garland affair happened well before Trump was elected. The rot goes to the core.

I’ll give Steve Schmidt props for having the courage of his convictions, though. Yes, he was complicit in many Republican anti-democratic plots, but he’s done a lot to atone. His conversion seems sincere. That said, I will oppose his center-right policies with every fiber of my being.
