Yes. I installed one that runs on natural gas; the installation + the whole-house generator cost $11,000 and I spend $360/year on a service plan. I wanted battery backup -- I have solar panels -- but it wasn't possible to get them when I installed the Generac. At least I have backup, but it's not as clean as a solar-powered battery and it's loud when running.
